Hey Family and Friends!

Whether you know me as Dushanca, Shannie, Mookie, Dee, or maybe even Ms. Norwood (my maiden name) or Mrs. Fowlks, many of you know that I was diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2025. I underwent bilateral surgery with reconstruction in May, began chemotherapy on July 17th, and will continue treatment through November, followed by radiation.

I'm so grateful for the love, encouragement, and support my family and I continue to receive throughout this life-changing journey. As I enter the 24th year of my teaching career-and my 10th year in Prosper ISD teaching 4th grade at Jackson Elementary-this year will be truly unique, to say the least! I will bravely face this battle with God's grace, faith, unmatched strength, and the unwavering support of family and friends.

To continue to raise awareness and honor all breast cancer warriors-past, present, and future-l've created a special t-shirt design to wear during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is very close to my heart. Short sleeve T-shirts and crew neck sweatshirts will be available in Light Pink or Ivory-symbols of hope, resilience, and solidarity.

❤️ Proceeds will benefit The Tuman Breast Cancer Foundation, which provides critical resources to women fighting breast cancer and has been (and continues to be!) a true blessing from the very beginning of my journey-offering my family and me invaluable resources, emotional support, and practical assistance that have made this challenging time much more manageable and hopeful for all of us. Proceeds will also help me and my family. From the bottom of my heart-thank you for standing with me. Together, we're proving that no one fights alone.
